I had almost forgotten how some resellers and registrars use the AGP to get a refund for fraudulent transactions. It would be very interesting to see statistics for that. Obviously you will not know if there's a backcharge coming from the credit card company within five days, but I do know of some companies that review their transactions within the AGP and simply refund transactions they cannot verify. The registrar agreement does say that you should secure payment in advance though, IIRC - which if you followed this rule excactly would keep you from competing with most other registrars.
