Somehow I really don´t see the point, and what makes "in-car browsing" so special that it cannot be handled in any better way than with a dedicated TLD...
You're too much of a cynic Francesco
Mind you, you ask an important question. But one that could be asked of .MOBI as well. And the answer might be the same: knowing that you will find properly formatted content for the medium you are using to browse the Internet might be useful...
Well, I do ask the same question about .Mobi. At least for .mobi there is however a clear "target device" with clear and well-known specifications, where something similar does not exist in the automotive industry. In case of websurfing, you would probably mount a touchscreen in your car, but in that case it would probably render webpages just like a normal pc.
Honestly, the only utility of a .car TLD is if stops you from accessing any web-content while you're driving
Unlike Francesco I like .mobi, then again I have a bias, as they are a real Irish company unlike others cough
However, I would have to agree. I can't see the point in .car I can't see the point to .berlin or a lot of the others either. I can see the point to several proposals that haven't taken off and I would be quite happy for .xxx to be approved Michele (ever so slightly cynical) |
